Coeur d’Alene Winter is a beautiful season to be here. Winters always bring snow, but some years the snow melts quickly. Other years our schools have one to three snow days.
Buy a 4-wheel drive vehicle and you can always drive around town on the snowiest winter days.

Hello, it’s Julie Paterson and I moved here from Southern California in 2008. This was the snowiest Coeur d’Alene Winter in 100 years. My family just loved it because it was our first snowy winter ever.
Our second Winter was the least snow in 100 years. And after living here through 11 winters I prefer the snow more than the lack of snow.
It is so much easier to get comfortable when it is cold. Then it is to get comfortable when the temperatures are hot.
It is amazingly beautiful when we get a big snowfall and then the sun shines and the skies are blue.
We quickly traded in our two-wheel drive cars we brought up from California. Our four-wheel-drive cars have always taken care of my family during the snowiest winter days. Just slow down a little and hit the breaks sooner than you normally would. The city streets are always plowed early in the morning.
